How to use the online system

Please follow the method listed below. If you have any problems please use the contact form to email Mike who will assist you.

New Members can pay on line as below- Current or Lapsed Members can renew by going to the Members Door!

Method

  1. Click Member's Door on the top menu.
  2. Log in or register if you have not already registered this will take you to the Members reception area which has the Members Matters Menu.
  3. Choose "New Member Joins" or Membership Renewal from the menu.
  4. The Enrolment, or Gift Aid renewal Form appears.(HMRC rules have changed and a new gift aid form is required from all of us.
  5. Please complete this either as a single member or if you are including a second person at the same address please fill in the second person's details.
  6. Please check the gift aid declaration if you pay sufficient tax on your income, note all pensions are taxable.
  7. Submit the form.
  8. The form is automatically sent to our Membership secretary who will create the membership record.
  9. You will be redirected to PayPal to pay the £22.00 per person annual charge.
  10. Renewing members must enter the membership number of the person completing the form.
  11. Please note members who share a surname have just one membership number: co-resident members who do not: will have two but only one is needed.
  12. New Members please enter 1,000 as the Payer's Membership number, because the field is required and this will complete the process.
  13. You can pay with a credit card or a debit card you do not need a paypal account.
  14. When the payment process completes you will be returned to our home page.
  15. When our e-commerce system updates our secretary's system your membership will be fully validated.
  16. You will receive an email which you should print off and produce as proof of membership when attending enrolment day or your first class of each group each year.

 This part of our site is designed to help you get the most out of our site.

Have you tried the banner, just hover over the top right hand corner of our home page and the page peels back to reveal a picture of the Current promotion topic.

If you click the picture you are presently taken to the relevant page.

View Videos

As an example let us assume that you want to see the video of our lacemakers in action. Click Arts and Crafts, then Lacemaking, the click the link where it says click here for video.

To see the video full screen click the double headed arrow across the bottom right hand corner of the video screen.

To Find Committee Members contact details and Images.

If you want to see our Executive Committee members contact details along with pictures of those brave enough to supply the picture.

Our registered address , Secretary of Guildford Area U3A plus Membership Secretary, Newsletter Editor and application form are on Contact Details under About Us on the header menu.

To Join Guildford Area U3A

You can join on line as follows.

To do this please first register for a web account then :-

  1. Log in
  2. This takes you to our reception area
  3. Use the menu to select "New Members Join" or "Renew Membership".
  4. Fill in the on screen form for each member for whom you intend to pay
  5. Click Submit
  6. This gets you to Pay Pal to pay the membership fee of £22-00 per person

The Join Us page is found under about us in the header menu. This page also has a link to download the membership form.

To find courses that meet on a particular day ot the week when you have free time.

 Simply type the day that you want into the search box at the top right hand corner it will probably find more if you use the first four letters.

 

 

Members Help part 2

  Viewing pdfs on screen.

You can view pdf files such as our prospectus on screen by clicking the download on our members menu.

You can:-

  1. Choose how big to make the print by clicking view on the header menu.
  2. Then choose the size from the drop down list.
  3. You can search for words by clicking edit.
  4. Then click find from the drop down.
  5. If you are interested in a page you can print the page you want.
  6. Click printer symbol then check the pages option under pages to print select the page or oages that you want to print.
  7. The delimiters between pages are as word e.g 5,7 will print pages 5 and 7. 5-7 prints pages 5 to 7 inclusive

Members Renewal

How to Renew your membership on Line

It is open to all members to renew their membership on line. You will need to resister a web account first. Once you have done this log in and follow the method set out below. If you have any problems please use the contact form to email Mike who will assist you. Please note. The Pay Pal charges for this transaction are absorbed by the Guildford Area U3A, however all Members who pay on line will be expected to accept our newsletter and all alert information by email in lieu of hard copies sent by the ever more expensive post. Please print off and retain the email from our Membership Secretary to produce as proof of membership at the first class of year in each group that you decide to join.

Method

  1. Click Member's Door on the top menu.
  2. Members reception area appears.
  3. Log in or register if you have not already registered.
  4. Note when you succesfully create an account you may be  returned to the edit screen if you are please log in
  5. Click "Membership Renewal".
  6. Please do not enter your membership number twice if you are married. The second membership number is only used for another surname.
  7. This will take you to PayPal to pay the £22.00 per person annual charge.
  8. You can pay with a credit card or a debit card. You do not need a paypal account.
  9. When the payment process completes you will be returned to our home page.
  10. When our e-commerce system updates our secretary's system your membership renewal will be fully validated.
  11. You will receive an email which you should print off and produce as proof of membership when attending your first class of each group each year.
