Enjoy the physical and social benefits of singing with a 40-strong chorus. Songs from musical theatre, folk and 'retro' pop, extracts from opera and oratorios. Many who do not read music learn successfully by ear and repetition.

Explore the development of musicals during the past century. Compare and contrast the works of composers and lyricists (from George Gershwin to Andrew Lloyd Webber; Cole Porter to Stephen Sondheim) and consider how they have tackled different themes and responded to changing times.

Tune-Playing on BelleplatesCode: 88


Belleplates are similar to handbells but flat and easier to handle. A one-and-a-half octave set (12 belleplates) is available for this group led by an experienced handbell ringer. Enthusiasm is more important than an ability to read music. Great fun can be had in learning to play tunes as part of a team.
