This course promotes an appreciation of Ancient Greek literature by reading the poetry, tragedies and comedies in translation, together with modern versions of the myths on which some of the stories were based.

Studying the life and times of real people through their own words. Great and small diarists, public and private events. Hundreds of diaries in existence. Interesting discoveries made. Bring any published Diary to the first session, ready to read short excerpts - or just come to listen.

Writers' WorkshopCode: 79


We meet to encourage each other to write on given or self-chosen subjects. We read and discuss work we have prepared. We also participate in exercises to spark our imagination and give us confidence to put pen to paper. The class is friendly, very lively and our writing does improve.
